Wedding - Part Deux

I used to wonder what was the bride and groom's role in the wedding other than being the centre of the entire spectacle.  One more thing I realized is that you really do not remember most of the happenings of the day. I missed the beauty of the place, didnt get to meet many people who come to attend, did not enjoy the sumptuous food, and most importantly you have to watch the fun which everyone has at your expense while you sit smiling for the photographers! Eventually when you look back at the photos, you do feel wonderful that all these moments have been captured and they shall always remain with you in an album. Things which you do not even remember was there would come up in the photos and you are left staring... there are so many emotions which you see on the faces of people, those which you never saw on that day.

The fun and frolic in the wedding when I look back it seems is to throw a shield over all the tension which surrounds it. Being a bride, and from the organising party of the wedding, you see the tension, the last minute arrangements, the caterer misunderstandings and flower errors. And when the groom party is from out of station, that opens up oh so many more avenues for details to be taken care of, and eventually some do manage to go astray. I am not sure if this is true with all, but eventually the tension does rub onto the bride and the happiness paired with organising tensions makes a complete combo of what the bride feels towards the last few 20 odd hours before the wedding. And me ... I did shed a few tears too with all the tension in the air! But, I think B was very supportive, not once did he lose his temper, very patient and getting things done by himself.

Once the ceremony starts, everything starts to go about in a flurry and you do not kno when everything ended. I do not remember the beauty of the decorations or the flowers or any other arrangements which were made, but I remmeber my parents, their expression. I remember B and his happy smiling face.I remember my friends who thought it most important to be there on that day. I think when I look back, these are the small things which I shall remmeber and not all those things which I did fail to notice.

PS: January - February seem to be travel months for me... went to Kenya honeymooning (aaahhhh) and now have been to Hampi for the first time. And now in Feb I shall be heading to Bombay and Delhi too :) I am yet to do my travel posts on Kenya and Hampi... shall take a lil time but shall be up!

I'm sorry Whisky

This is something which I wrote the day I went to drop Whisky back at CUPA. I just never ended up posting it, for reason unknown; but now that I read it, all these feelings came back and a helplessness envelops...

How I wished the sun would not rise today! How I wished I had a choice..Yesterday was one of the longest nights and I don't think I was this upset in the near future over anything.

I decided that this is the best option, and maybe she does need more space to move about than I am able to provide her, or I choose to console myself so. She won't be at home, waiting for the doorkeys to jingle and come running, she won't be there to play random feet snapping games, she won't be there to explore every new item which enters the house. I do not know whether she will like her new place, I do not know whether she will be happy with others like her, but that is where she came from, and that is where she has gone to.

It was a decision based after a lot of thought, I thought, as  I watched her sleep yesterday night. I have packed and given along her toys and feeding bowls... I hope she wil remember me by them.. or maybe as they say... cats don't remmeber too much. I left her glow in the dark collar with the bell... the bell which I have become most accustomed to hearing. I don't know how it shall feel when I come back to this house with her not there anymore.

I am already thinking whether I can go to meet her there, but even before that, I hope she will adjust and not miss the petting and cooing which I have always done. She is one spoilt cat... many have told me... but I did not mind that. I love her ... love her alot. The last time she was there, she was so distraight... well, she was in pain too. I pray that this time she shall adjust, coz I do not know what happens if she doesn't. She is quite scared of strangers, and takes her own time to come to you... but once she does she is playful. I do not want her to wait hopefully for me to come back for her, I already feel horrible, but if she does hope that... that would be it. I don't think I shall be able to forgive myself for the loving home which I have given her, and then taken it away from her.

The Affair of the Necklace

The Affair of the Necklace is a movie which caught my attention on HBO and I did finally get down to watching it. The background was very interesting... Paris, foremost and also toppped with history. I tend to like these old time set movies, and this one seemed perfect in that respect.

What IMDB has to say about this movie is, a woman's fight to acquire her family home and the path she follows to achieve it. This is also said to be the moment in history which resulted in the eventual break down of the French monarchy.

Hillary Swank in a completely different role as the movie I do associate her the most with is Kill Bill as I am sure with many, and seeing her here as a Countess ... all demure, sophisticated ... in fact these kind of roles shows the true nature of acting, the capability to be a NInja assasin and a countess.

PS: Wedded life is wonderful , loving it and I wish this honeymoon period lasts forever! But, I also know that is not going to be the case.

I also managaed to give an interview for my blog ( thats sounds all high and mighty.. but it aint... its just a small interview which you can have a look at here)
